We run the Whangaparaoa Community Recycling Centre, advise on Zero Waste events and are working on a Zero Waste plan alongside Linku2 Hibiscus Coast.
Our vision is to become the most liveable city in the world. We aim for the long term, aspirational goal of Zero Waste by 2040.
The Recycling Centre is open from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm Thursday to Sunday. Closed Tuesday, Wednesday and public holidays.
The WCRC takes cardboard, paper, glass, aluminium, steel cans and a few types of plastic. We are not a transfer station.
For a fee we also take batteries, polystyrene, ewaste and old appliances. See our charging rates below.
Materials dropped off here are mostly recycled in New Zealand. View our E Waste pricing
If you are with a school, community group or plan to hold your event on public land, we can assist with your zero waste event planning. Please contact Betsy for further information.
